Clifton Cares
Clifton Cares is our commitment to support our school community, local and national charities. It is embedded into daily life at our school and within our school values.
The Felix Project
The Felix Project has been supporting our school for the last three years. They deliver food to us on a weekly basis that has been redistributed from production, suppliers, supermarkets and restaurants. Every Thursday Clifton families who need extra food support arrive at school with their shopping bags, ready to collect what is on offer.
Clifton Cares Charity Shop
We receive donations of clothes, school uniform and toys regularly from members of our community and family and friends of our staff. Each term we open up our Charity Shop so that members of our school community who are struggling financially can help themselves to items for free.
Boloh - Barnardo's
We have worked with Barnardo's to refer families to Boloh (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Family Covid-19 Helpline). They have been wonderful in supporting many member of our school community during the pandemic.
Ealing Foodbank
We collect and donate food and other items to Ealing Foodbank annually. We are also able to refer families to the foodbank in order for them to get more support.
Southall Black Sisters
Southall Black Sisters is a local charity whose aims are to highlight and challenge all forms gender-related violence against women, empower them to gain more control over their lives; live without fear of violence and assert their human rights to justice, equality and freedom.
Over the years many members of our school community have sought support from this charity so in order to to support them with the great work they do, our children donated large amounts of toiletries for women and children.
Clifton Cares Charity Week
Every January we hold our 'Clifton Cares Charity Week.' Each year group has a specific learning focus, such as
- Learning about Kindness
- Litter and Recycling
- Food Waste
- The Right for Everyone to have Access to Books
- Homelessness
We have also had talks from local charities 'The Felix Project' and 'Nishkam SWAT' in order to learn more about what they do to help people.
The end of the week always culminates in a non-uniform day to raise money for local charities. In the images below you can see that in 2020 children came to school dressed up as types of food!
Supporting National Charities
We regularly support national charities by hosting non-uniform days to raise money. Most recently we raised money for the Royal British Legion as instead of selling poppies due to Covid-19, we all dressed in red for the day!
